Herbs/Rapeh/Tobacco rituals

The Rape’ or Sacred tobacco is a tool of Amazonian origin. It is a sacred medicine, a spirit of star healing since it connects us with the Universal Creation.

It is prepared by various combinations of tobacco, medicinal plants, bark of different jungle trees, cocoa bush, cinnamon tree, mesquite wood and sacred fire ashes. The medicines are grinded until they form a very fine powder where only the crystals of the plants can be perceived. The presence of the grandfather tobacco is what directs, orders, balances and integrates the other plants towards the specific purpose of the work. At the same time, tobacco is a door connecting the spirit and the Universe, which helps us to awaken the purity of ourselves and of medicine.

The application of rape’ is by means of the breath or ̈blowing ̈ through the nostrils, thus balancing the two hemispheres of the brain, the masculine and feminine part, the intuitive part and the logical part. To receive this medicine we must be receptive, quiet and holding our breath. The blown breath helps us to heal individualism and reminds us that we need the other in order to grow, that some medicines are taken by oneself and others are received by the hand of a brother or sister. It teaches that we all are part of the circle of life.

The rape’ is the medicine of the Air, the blessing of the grandfather Wind. With a blow we connect with the Universal source of energy and our Higher Self, cleansing our perception and clearing the mind. The medicine rises up, cleansing and ordering the energy field, especially the chakras of the third eye and the crown, from there  it moves down the spine. The rape’ helps the body expel mucus and parasites from the frontal and nasal sinuses. Eliminates headaches. It is also medicine for the vision of spirit, helping us to cleanse the mind and stop the internal dialogue, to be truly present and be able to see beyond our interpretations.

The application of rape’ is accompanied by different songs, sacred and ancestral sounds. Ceremonial drum, native flutes, Tibetan bowls, tingsha and many other instruments, according to what the moment and person requires.
