Art Therapy

Art is in itself a tool for healing and harmonization. The creative process helps to integrate parts of self and personality, to recreate emotions and transform them, to express one’s inner world. Art therapy is based on the process of therapy for emotional and mental well-being. It offers alternative and creative coping tools to process trauma. Art therapy uses art as a non-verbal form and medium to accompany therapeutic work. It embraces the idea that art is a means of symbolic communication and expression.
You don’t have to be talented or an artist to receive the benefits. Art therapy is a path to self-knowledge. It helps to deepen the underlying messages that are communicated through Art, which will help in the healing process. I use in my sessions Integrative Humanistic approach.

When things fall apart, we can put them back together through the use of ART

Art therapy sessions would be paced every week or every 2 weeks. After an initial session intake and focusing on specific topic we arrange a suitable timing for this process work.

Sessions are 1 h long

Benefits and goals

ArtTherapy can achieve different things for different people. It can be used for personal development, treatments, rehabilitation, psychotherapy. In the broad sense of the term, it can be used as a connection to the Self, so that it can provide the individual with a deeper understanding of himself or herself. The advantage of ArtTherapy is to be a channel of expression, free of judgment, aligned with the person and at the same time to be a creative and inspiring tool for self-help. Expressing one’s feelings through any art form represents the person’s ability to transform and manifest in different ways. It shows the potential of its rebirth and continuous creation of new realities. The creative process that is expressed artistically can help people solve problems, as well as develop and control their behaviors and feelings, reduce stress and improve self-esteem and confidence, expanding awareness.

Who is it for ?

As with most therapies, ArtTherapy is generally used as a treatment for something, usually as a way to improve the psycho-emotional state. It is for those who do not find words and expression to their mood. It is focused on improving personal well-being, working on difficult emotions, specific personal difficulties, working on emotional or physical trauma, depression, relieving stress and anxiety and developing the coping mechanism. However, expressive art therapy does not have to be used as a treatment alone. It can also be used as a mode of self-discovery. Many people need some kind of creative outlet.
